Actually it was THREE life-sized Grey Whales, and I am also in the documentary film that will be coming online very soon!

I am very sore and very fatigued as I type this, so please forgive any errors that you might see. There's no whiskey in the house, either-- and I'm not sure if I could even lift a  glass of the stuff, if there was! LOL!

As I noted in the side panel, I have been doing a whole heck of a lot of art-related stuff lately. From attending many Spring shows and openings, to attacking the canvas with my own musings. Helping "The Whale Builder " with his project had been a desire of mine ever since he started out some four years ago, and finally it has happened!

Under cloudy gray skies, a crew of volunteers from the art schools and the general community came together, and started the process of fleshing out the lattice work skeletons of the three huge animals. The clay was hand-carried to a small truck, and then to the building site, and then hand cut, carried to the frames, and applied with hands only. 12,000 lbs. of clay was the computer's estimate for the job, and I could swear that the stuff weighed even more than than that as the hours started to add up...

The Bar-B- Que fueled lunch break was spectacular, and voraciously welcomed by our crew, which had grown in number from the starting gang of ten, until about 35 hungry, wet, and amusingly clay-faced folks were starting to get into the outright ZEN of this major project...

The official opening of the show will be on Thursday, April 1st -- 3pm to 6pm, at Broad and Spruce sts, Philadelphia, Pa.-- in a lot that's right across the street from the Kimmel Center. PLEASE bring your cameras (and maybe a sip of whiskey for me, too, LOL!)

There will be pictures to share, and videos to view, and I'd love for ALL of you to get the chance to do something like this at least once during your lifetime...

I'm going to sign off now, and get a few winks...

pplcheryl63: Sounds like you had fun even if you are paying for it now :-). Im looking forward to seeing the do.
I am so glad that I make the effort to keep my body as strong as possible with a daily regimen of walking darn near everywhere, plus a diet that's high in protiens, low in fat ( except for steaks and burgers) and generously supplied with fruit and vegetables.

I even managed to work longer than the young people and the artist himself, LOL! :)
