I am going to ruffle a few feathers but oh well, that's life and I tend to do that anyway. My pet peeve du jour? These crappy annoying automated marketing techniques.
Technique 1 The Autoresponder
I made the mistake one time of clicking on an e-book a couple of years ago which got me put on a guru's list. For the past couple of years I have gotten constant autoresponder e-mails which are completely ignored and deleted. It's would seem obvious that I am not imterested in what he has to offer and yet I get e-mails from him weekly. Now after a couple of years I get "Warnings" I'm going to be dropped from his list. Well all I can say is about time. This is after I went through the "unsubscribe" process more than once. Please drop me already and stop stinking up my inbox!
Technique 2 The "Forced" Capture Page
Do you really think I'm going to be idiotic enough to give you my e-mail just so you can have the ability to spam me? Nope not happening. I've already got one Idiot guru annoying my nerves. I do not intend to add to my collection of spammers and scammers. If you can't be straightforward about what you're offering I'm not interested. I don't have the time or the urge to play your game just find out that you have absolutely nothing of value to offer me!
Technique 3 The Automated Advertising Call
I find this to be the most intrusive of all the automated marketing techniques. I have a phone number to conduct business and listening to some computer generated automated advertising message about so Marketing system "guaranteed" to bring me dozens of sign ups in my downline each month is not conducting business. The time you are wasting tying up my phone line could be better spend talking to a prospect or client which you are not. And the fact that you are using some automated computer line to annoy others all over the country with your BS promises makes you the worst of the lot.
I know many of you think these are simply efficient ways to contact prospects, no they are not, they are efficient ways to spam a prospect. You see everyone using the tools is doing the exact same thing that you are doing, and it is not getting them or you any closer to your goal, It's pissing people off. So lets look at some non intrusive ways to use these items
Autoresponders are a good way to keep in touch with your clients and send regular updates on products and services, but if I'm not already doing business with you do you really think annoying me at regular intervals is going to help?
Capture pages that are presented after a prospect has seen your offer will get you reponses from people who are interested. No you won't get as many responses but the quality of the ones you get will be highly improved. Do you really want to fill your autoresponder with junk e-mails from peaple that want nothing to do with you or your products.
I don't even know what to say about these automated phone calls. I don't think I can even come up with an acceptable use for it. The whole system is intrusive and inconsiderate. When the phone rings on a business line it is answered because it may be a client calling. That business person get's highly pissed when the potential client turns out to be a computerized sales speach. And I get at least 5 or 6 of these sales calls a week. Because of these calls I don't even answer the phone for numbers I don't recognize anymore so you are wasting your time. I'll just delete you from the voicemail when I get round to it!
