Do You Ever Do This?

I don't think this is an elder thing because my daughters tell me they've done this too.

But do you ever get up out of your chair and walk into another room and then forget why

you got up? Sometimes I'll be sitting down and then all of a sudden I have a thought, I want

something to eat or drink or something across the room catches my eye and I get up, then

I forget what I got up for and rather than  go back to my seat...cause everyone knows the moment

you sit back down you're going to remember, I just stand there looking like an idiot.

Bill Cosby had an interesting thought on this subject. He said that we should put a belt around

our butts to put some pressure in that region so the butt will be fooled into thinking it's sitting down

so we can remember why we got up while we're still standing. LOL

It happens to me all the time but I continue to forget long after I sit down again.

I do this all the time, and I'm pretty much open about it too. If I can't remember what I wanted after standing there for a couple of minutes, muttering to myself lol, I go and sit back where I was and try to continue what I was doing. That usually helps because its usually something I needed to continue lol.

I do it all the time but I don't worry about looking DF, I just stand there and retrace my thought pattern until I remember why I'm standing there looking like an idiot talking to myself

haha.. yes -- I agree -- think we have all done this. I've stood there and laughed at myself. My son is only 13 -- and I've seen him do this too.
I love Bill Crosby -- he has a neat way of looking at a lot of things about life.

I don't know anyone who hasn't done that and no it not an elder thing. I think it's more of an information overload thing. There's just too much data coming in to our brains at one time.
